About The Book

Cut It Out! is a book that teaches how to be a smarter, more organized shopper. It uses the meals you normally cook but teaches you how to plan so you can save money without cutting a single coupon!

I tried couponing. I did not have great success. The first 2 weeks I paid $10 for newspapers and coupons and saved $12.50 for a net savings of $2.50.

I do not buy preprocessed food very much, and most of the coupons are for those things. I haven’t gotten ANYTHING for free or anywhere near free. And the items that others get free are not even things we use AT ALL. In fact, I ended up spending MORE money on items to ‘stock up’ than I normally spend when I’m just being thrifty. It is just NOT worth my time to save $1.25 a week!

So I returned to my “regularly scheduled program” of menu planning and using my price book. And this is what I teach in this book.

Cut It Out! is a frugally designed book. It is without pictures so that, should you want to, you can print it economically. I didn’t want any frills or fancy stuff to take away from the very basic purpose… to help you save money! Very few recipes are included (there are so many great websites and books for that), so don’t expect that. Just how to take your current meals and learn to shop smarter and cheaper!
